Homemade Flatbread

Making flatbread at home is easier than you might think and adds a special touch to your meal. We like to pair ours with lamb koftas and hummus. 

Ingredients

  • 3 cups plain flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1/3 cup olive oil

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the flour, salt and baking powder.
  2. Gradually add the warm water and olive oil, mixing until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 2 minutes until smooth.
  4. Divide the dough into 16 pieces and rest for 15 mins with a tea towel on top. 
  5. On a floured surface, roll each piece into a thin circle.
  6. Heat a frying pan over medium heat and cook each flatbread for 1-2 minutes on each side until puffed and golden.
